Ryan Spielman runs a yoga podcast he calls Lonely Guru. He’s done some interesting interviews. This one is of particular interest for me as it’s with Australian Ashtanga teacher and author of Astanga Yoga As It Is and Vinyasakrama. They chat about the purpose of practice and about tradition.

I’ve always believed that we hold emotions in our bodies. And there’s no greater proof than having a daily Ashtanga practice. When you’re on the mat doing your thing, there’s literally nowhere to hide. It’s just you and your emotions. And the practice of course.
R Sharath Jois in Europe
There’s a bit of a buzz building up around Sharath’s imminent European tour. He’ll be teaching in Moscow, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki and London. The London leg is hosted by Astanga Yoga London and starts on Sunday the 25th of August. See you there!

Summer is workshop season in the UK and there are loads of great teachers visiting. Both Sharath and Manju will be teaching in the UK and Manju is even coming to teach a weekend workshop in Brighton. Joey Miles will also be returning to Brighton for a weekend workshop at the end of the Summer.
